Personal Experience
End-to-End Application
One of my larger side projects has been a full, end-to-end, application including a web and desktop app, and android and iOS apps.
The project includes .NET microservices utilizing event-based architecture designs and patterns to manage data and business operations and events. Frontend applications across web, desktop, and mobile all share VueJS as their foundation in a monorepo setup, powered by Tauri for desktop and Capacitor for mobile.
Additional systems, like SQLServer, ElasticSearch, and RabbitMQ, are also part of the stack, adding additional IT complexity to the system.
The goal is not only to try and create something I'm passionate about, but to learn about tools and areas I haven't had first hand experience with in my roles. Providing a breadth of experience that demonstrates my eagerness to delve into complex issues and get things done.
Unreal Engine
I finally took the dive into Unreal Engine 4 and began working on my own Zombie survival game. The experience has been challenging to say the least. However, there really hasn't been anything I've been so intrigued and excited with.
Additionally, this has been an opportunity to get my hands dirty on working in C++ and familiarizing myself with more coding languages.
It's been a great way to let my imagination run free; then bring it back down to earth as I'm forced to think critically of how to take these ideas I have in my mind and turn them into functional code.
Adobe Photoshop / Affinity Suite
More known as a technical engineer, I'm delighted to often surpise people that I actually have a solid interest and skillset in art.
Throughout the years, I've dabbled in graphic and web design. The majority of my time with digital art experience however has come in the form of creating textures for video games.
